Ella Maillart Skiing Races in Karakol, Kirghizstan

On February 28, 2024, the Swiss NGO Pamir's Bridges and its Kyrgyz partners organized the 6th edition of their "Ella Maillart Race" at the Ski Base in Karakol in Kyrgyzstan's Celestial Mountains. 123 young people from Karakol, Orlovka-Chui oblast and Naryn participated in the event. The event was sponsored by Pamir’s Bridges, the Embassy of Switzerland in Bishkek and The Friends of Ella Maillart Association.

A further Ella Maillart event took place at Karakol Ski School on 14 March 2024. 60 children aged 6 to 12 took part in the race. 25 of the young skiers were girls.
