Exhibition at Espace Ella Maillart
Déjo Vella, Old Village of Chandolin, Valais
Chandolin wished to pay tribute to Ella Maillart who was during half a century one of its most illustrious guests. In collaboration with the Association Les amis d'Ella Maillart, a permanent exhibition dedicated to her memory has been installed in the former Saint-Barbe chapel in the heart of the Old Village. The exhibition retraces her career as an elite sportswoman, explorer, writer, photographer, and lecturer. Drawn from Ella Maillart's iconographic collection, it brings together numerous photographs, drawings, articles, posters and objects collected during her travels. A selection of photographs taken by Ella Maillart and the projection of filmed interviews complete the exhibition.
